i'm installing a procharger on my 03' mustang gt 4.6sohc. is it necacary to grind on the alternator housing to make clearance for the drive belt? Any other tips would be greatly apprciated to make my install faster and easier.

I wouldn't think so. I never ground on mine to make it fit. Of course there is a 3 year difference, but it shouldn't be any really.

I've got an 03 gt with a procharger. I installed it myself. You do not have to grind the alternator however it is very close.

no the directions will tell you any thing that you will need to do to the engine and if you grind the alternator housing it can mess with the altinator and it will not work properly

I choose the SCT Xcal 2 and had a local speed shop dyno tune it. The diablo chip that comes with the kit didn't work in my car at all. It wouldn't stay running. When I"d pull the chip out of the ECM it'd start right up andf run fine. Just didn't get into boost until I got the tuner and tune correct. The mail order tunes aren't going to work well for you. It'd get you by until you did it right. Although I've heard a lot of good things about Breenspeed. But I'd still do the dyno tune. Just do go out and run it like crazy after the install, keep your foot off the gas and wait patiently until you get that tune. Otherwise you may be buying more than just a s/c.

I literally just installed most of my paxton kit last night and I didn't have to grind the alternator....it is definately a very close fit right there though.
