So I emptied my transmission (03 GT, Manual Trans) using the drain plug at the bottom. I removed the shifter and filled it with about 3.75qt of ATF Fluid.

My question is :

1). I called the dealer to confirm that standard dexron ATF would be fine, he looked it up and said yes.

but I recall someone saying I needed to use synthetic?

2). Did I add enough ?

Should be usin' Amsoil Synthetic ATF.[&:] Any synthetic is better than the other crap you can get.

 

I used Royal Purple SyncroMax and it took about 3.2 quarts (filled using the filler plug on the tranny). Sounds like you used plenty. Did you use a Mercon compatible fluid?
