Default Ummm I dont think its supposed to happen

When I was driving home from work today, I was going about 40 mph in 3rd(about 2.3k RPMs). I have been driving it at higher RPMs lately to get a better exhaust noise when cruising

Well, in the middle of driving, my windshield wipers suddenly start going for no reason. I turned them on, then off again, and a few seconds later it did it again. It did it a few more times before it finally stopped. I have never even heard of this happening before. What could be causing it?

It did it one time a few weeks ago when I cruised under 2k RPMs. I just forgot about it because it hasn't done it any other time.

I do have a misfire as well if that could cause it.

I had that happen on my 96 ranger a while back. It had the same turn signal/wiper lever as our stangs have. Somehow it got a short in it and needed to be replaced. Possibly the same thing is going on with yours.

OMG it's haunted!!!There was a thread about running from ghost cars last week!!!!

More than likely it's a loose switch contact.Try wiggling the wiper switch and see if it causes the wipers to activate. You might hit the steering wheel to shake the entire steering column and see if that duplicates this phenomenon.

Becuase ford is crazy and doesnt know how to wire in cars. They have the wipers on the same circut as the rear left blinker and the heater and the traction control.

maybe something's wrong with the relay. on my dad's car, his wipers came on when he turned on the lights. they cut on for no reason and scared the crap out of us. then the wipers would just come on for no reason. maybe its possesed. lol

I had the same problem, it was the most annoying thing ever. I found a wiper/turn signal arm on ebay for 60 dollars and decided to try it. So i swaped out my wiper/ turn signal arm and have not had anymore problems. Might want to give that a try.
