what is the difference between 3.73 gears and 4.10 gears? i read articles in "mustangs and fastfords" for tips and tricks, and they guy in there tells everyone to use 4.10 gears. so what's the best gears to use??? Thanks a lot.
the best gears to use depend how you use your mustang, 4.10 are better use on the drag strip, 3.73 would be better for more street use, everyone you talk to is going to give you thgeir opinion, i just told you what i got from reading the same thing you did
once again what llyod said... who said u have to use 4.10's for the strip... lot of people use them on the street.... me i'm gettin 3.73s just because i still want some sort of gas mileage.....lol
I'mn about to buy my first mod motor stang. You dont tach out on the highway with 4:10's? I had them in my f body and hated them on the road. Racing they were great though
I wouldn't go higher than 3.73 myself. I put 3.55's in my 85 because it still sees alot of highways, and 3000 rpm is NOT nothing when you have 2 chamber flowmasters on. (going from the 2.73 7.5" rear to the 3.55 8.8" rear was a nice wake up) Just my thoughts... What gear are you starting with? Rule of thumb... bump up two levels to feel something ... (3.27 to 3.73, 3.55 to 4.11)
