hey guys im getting rid of my sixer and im planning on buying a 99-04 GT. ill have about 11k for the car as soon as i sell my sixer. i definatly plan on goin F/i and doing a H/C/I job. i will forge my bottom end first tho. but whats the maximum number of miles that can already be on the car and still allow me to mod it safely and reliably?

All depends on how the car was taken care of. I wouldnt go past about 70k miles or so depending on if you know that the car had the proper maintenance and wasnt dogged out every day for the past x amount of miles. But I've seen F/I cars with 100k miles and more still run great, just had minor problems.

if i were you id keep saving a bit more and go after a 4v new edge. if you end up with a gt do full exhaust then save for a blower.

holy **** man i cant wait lol. the sixer definatly doesnt cut it. and even if i am dumb enough to put enough money into it to make it fast...i shatter that lil 7.5 rear end so its a lose lose situation unless of course i get a 4.6. so do u guys think 10k for a 99 GT with 70k is a good deal? it seems like its been taken care of. and once i do get my gt....what do u guys recomend as best bang for the buck mods without getting a bottle.

My best advice is don't settle. Dealer tried to sell me on a GT deluxe cloth, Windstar van rims no stereo 46,000 mile 2004 back in August. I ended up fighting the impulse to jump at it and ended up with a Premium GT Mach 460, 17x8 Polished wheel leather w/ 40th interior upgrade silver dream 2004 with 36,000 miles for $2,000 more from the same dealer. I was about to walk on the first one, then they therw the 'ol "What if we deal you on the Premium next to it, the one you REALLY want". Basically, as stated don't settle. If you want a 40th Commemrative version get it. If you want a 2000 Spring Edition Convertible, get it. If you want a Cobra....etc....

P.S. No offense to those w/ cloth and van rims [&:]
