Default Are headers worth the mon

I am just curious before i decide to buy headers, is that if they are worth the 400 bucks plus the other 600 or whatever for a shop to do it? I had looked at getting the BBK equal length shorty headers that were pol. ceramic. Any input?? ALso, I have a chip, custom exhaust, cold air induction, underdrive pullies, and a steeda tri-ax shifter. What route should i go next?? I'm thinking gear change and then headers.

headers r really worth the money dude, if you dont have the money to go for bassani headers the MAC shorties or long headers r fairly decent price for the quality...

How much did it cost to put the headers in? I don't know what i'll do next. I might just get a gear change and then really save up and invest in a supercharger.

jbrandtgt, what do you have for a mid pipe and cat back?

If you can turn a wrench, have access to a floor jack/some wood, I'm sure you can install them in an afternoon (took mine off today for some cleaning/opening up and took less than an hour by hand, no power tools).

uhh, not so sure its that easy. it may depend on the year, mine is a 96 and the old manifolds suck *** and were real small, the engine had to be partially lifted to get the new headers in and that requires removing braces, wiring, and losening engine mounts and all that happy horses**t. id say do it, but not urself.
98stang its really up to you on that area, i did bbk down pipes and flowmaster tails (no cats, if u can get away with that go for it) but thats a personal preference thing

Yeah, but 1 afternoon, 8 hours to install 2 headers? That's plenty of time, even removing lines/bracing/jacking up the motor.
