Default Supercharger Install Question

Hi:
I have a question about intalling a supercharger into a 04 GT. Is it possable to install a 03/04 Cobra supercharger on to a GT engine. I have seen many listings on ebay of people selling there cobra superchargers and I am wondering what would it take to install one on to my GT. Does the supercharger bolt on to my intake manifold??? Is a differant manifold needed?? What else needs to be changed for the install to work, and is it worth doing,or is it better to just get an aftermarket supercharger kit??

Thanks guys: Fantor

Every newbie asks this once, so it's ok. You CAN install the supercharger on your car but it WONT be easy. This is mainly because you would have to custom fabricate your own intake manifold to adapt the eaton onto your car. Unless you have the resources and skill to do that, then it wont work. If GT guys could use them, the Cobra guys would sell them for more!
Anyways, the Eaton, or "heaton", isn't a very good supercharger anyways, which is why many Cobra owners upgrade. You would be better off just buying a supercharger thats made for your car. If money is tight, you can often times find used superchargers for a reasonable price.

While this question is out here, I would also like to ask something. Why do any of you think no companies make kits to adapt the eatons onto the GT's? I mean, once they got the intakedesign down, they could sell the kits to people who have purchased the eatons off of Cobra owners(maybe Lightnings, not sure). I know this supercharger isn't great, but it would be similar to an FRPP roots blower. You can get the blower and everything for $500ish, and a company could sell kit for $500-$1000ish. The gain wouldn't be bad for $1000-$1500ish, less than half of centrifugal superchagers.

I'm just ranting, but it's a thought I had...

Probably because the market for such a product would be too tiny. I mean, the only people wanting an intake like that are those who are trying to stick a USED factory blower onto a 2v 4.6. Technically sure making one would not be a problem otherwise

Will a cobra intake manifold fit/work on a GT engine??? I found a cobra supercharger with intake manifold, TB and Plenum, fuel rails and injectors. Anyone think this will work???

I understand exactly what you are saying. A big downfall is that the blowers are used (and most likely have taken a beating if the owners were in their right mind!). But what draws a lot of people is a way to make boost for relatively cheap. If the supercharger does crap out on you, get another one for a couple hundred bucks! If the kit and blower cost almost as much as anew supercharger kit, then the product wouldn't sell good, so I don't know how much a kit like that would cost to manufacture. Most people also know the Cobra blower wouldn't be as good as a new one, but if it could get a basic bolt-on GT into the mid 300's hp wise...

I'm just thinking here though. Idk if you saw the post i made a while back, but it was a V6 guy on cardomain who fabbed an intake to put the eaton on his sixer. His V6 was basically stock, but the eaton put him around 270 to the wheels at 5-6 psi. That's about 100 to the wheels over stock.

The cobra intake manifold will not fit, which is why you would have to custom fab one. Most cobra owners do sell all that together though.
