traction problems
Recently purchased a 1999 Mustang GT Conv. Flowmasters and cold air intake have been done so far with 3.73 purchased awaiting delivery. I have new 45's all the way around but I cant get the thing to hook up! I have a 5spd. Other than fatter tires or slicks, what do you guys reccomned or what have you done to improve off the line grip for this car?
the dealer put on new Nankang 45's all the way around so Im not buyinh new tires for a while. When I leave a red light at around 2500rpm they light up quite a bit. 2000rpm and it doesnt leave hard enough. I want to leave at 2500-3000.
Never heard of the tire I would guess they are cheap knock offs that are a rather hard compound. But leaving the line at 3K with out feathering will certainly light them up. With the 3.73 it will be worse and you will have to leave off idle. Get seat time in the car and you will get it. Took me a little practive to get a nice launch. Now if I could only get out of the box at the track like I leave a street light I will be good
