Default Intake

I have a friend who has been big into modding his car for a while now and I have decided to play with mine some. His experience has been with an eclipse so he can't tell me everything I need to know about my '00 mustang gt. I'm going to take baby steps for now and the very first thing I'm going to do is put a cold air intake on it. I wanted to get the advice of people who know what I need to tell me which cold air intake I should buy and where. Thanks in advance for your help guys.

I believe I posted it, '00 mustang GT. It's automatic if that makes a difference.

I have a densecharger. They may cost more money than most other intakes but they really do work. I love mine and wouldnt trade it for any other intake.

How about not buying a cold air intake, & getting a m.a.m. Cold air intakes are a waste of money compared to a m.a.m. C&L upper intake plenum, Accufab 75mm t/b, C&L trueflow pipe, & m.a.m. w/a K&N air filter is the way to go for you induction on a n/a Stang.

IMO it depends on what you are looking for in the long run.

any decent CAI and catback is a good start. it will make your car feel more powerful and responsive. Then a decent midpipe and gears.

Unless you want to go nuts, then you should listen to someone else. I like to keep it simple/cheap for now but still have a faster than stock stang with good stuff on it.

Don't buy junk though.

Kinda new at this, could you explain what a m.a.m. is? Sorry for the newb question.

And I'm not going nuts on this just yet, want to do the cheaper mods first and see how well I like it but also do it in a way where I don't have to re-do things in case I do decide to go with a supercharger later on.

Take the air screen out of your stock air intake(not the filter) and you will get almost as much HP as a CAI- then spend that money on a mid pipe or cat back and you will run and SOUND better on a budget.
