Default Sway bar weight

Whats the deal with removing sway bars... has anyone actually seen an improvment in drag times by doing this. They can't weigh much, does it improve weight transfer or what?

Yes, removingthe sway bars give better weight transfer by allowing the engine to rise more/faster. They only weigh a few pounds so the weight is no biggie. I have personally removed mine because I am only into straight line performance. It only takes a minute to remove as well.

dont they weigh like 20 lb? i thought it was decently heavy last time i had it out. but mebbe the 94-98 sway bars are dif than the 99-04.

it also makes it fun to go around those tight turns, although a little slower, it's still fun lol. weee oh noes we gones tip!

No, it's not that much. Maybe 5 lbs.

How hard is what? Taking it off is easy if that is what you are referring to. It's only taking out 2 bolts.

VAST improvement on weight transfer with the front one removed. I removed the rear one as well and it wasn't bad, but after I put it back on...my 60's were way more consistent.

Ok so I'm confused.. why would removing the sway bar have ANY effect on weight transfer? (aside from the reduced weight of having the bar) Sway bars affect side-to-side motions NOT front-to-back motions... Or is the Stang swaybar limiting the ability of the suspension to move?

Taking the front one off aloows full travel of your front suspension. I was told by an old drag racer to try removing the rear one as well, so I did. I cut 1.6x-1.70 60's with both off. Now with just the front one off I am consistent 1.60-1.61's

well correct me iof i am wrong but the front sway bars are connected to each suspension. well usually the front left lifts first due to engine torque and if you have the front left connected to the front right then you are weighing the front of the car down
