yea i did and he said it shouldnt take more than an hour. i mean there are places around 150-200 miles away charging 150$ and hour but this just seems like too much

Are you going to be using a handheld to tune your car or are you looking for a custom tuned chip?

That could be causing some of the confusion.

He is probably thinking 150 for the tune and then another 450 for a handheld for you to program with the tune he is doing so you can control the tune yourself. You need to get more info with what exactly this 600 dollars is getting you.

No he definitely knows that i have a tuner and a chip. He said that he uses a diablosport and asked if i had one. i said yes and he said good that will save you about 400$ or so.

so his normal price for a tune is 1 grand without a tuner or 600 with a tuner?
Again the shop here charges 150 per hour on the dyno and that includes the tuning and they use the diablo tuner as well. You might wanna check around a little more before you jump on that shop.

If that's the case, then he's ripping you off. Find some other place and save big $$$

Yeah our local shop here gets 150$ an hour for a tune and 1000$ for a SC install/tune. So 600$ for a tune sounds a bit high... id think more around 150-300$ or so give or take.
