Default question about midpipes

If I were to go with a o/r mid pipe, I would fail emissions correct? Also, would it be possible to simply put the cats back on for when I have to go and get emissions tested? Anybody have any suggestions or stories about how they passed.

Default RE: question about midpipes

A) Buy an O/R midpipe have fun with it then swap it for emissions....
B) Buy a midpipe with cats and never have to swap it for emissions...

Also it depends on what they do for your car... some states just check for codes other states actually put a device up your tailpipe and run it to determine. If they just check for codes buy a tuner turn off the rear 02 sensors and whammy problem solved. if they use the deviced then u have to swap midpipes. The easier thing to do would be to buy a catted midpipe and be done with it.

correct, you'd fail emissions.
you can re-install the factory pipe just before you get inspected.

Isn't everyone?

You can run an O/R midpipe in CA. It's just if you get pulled over, pray to God that the cop doesn't look under your car. If you get pulled over because he thinks your car is too loud, you're f'ed. Just get it catted.
