Spend Money on Performance?
I thnk before you make any decisions I would get the motor checked out from top to bottom and see what a PROFESSIONAL says. If he gives you the green light then let it loose and blow the imortal hell out of it..haha
If ur compression is good, and your Oil pressures good. Then your good to go.
Ill be superchargeing my cobra with over 100k. The compressiont test will really explain the condition of your engine.

If I had to do it over, I would have spent less money on bolt on mods. They do help, but for the cash you spend it seems you achieve nothing. The only GT's that truly run good are those with a charger, nitrous setup, or those few cars with killer drivetrains and slicks that leave the line at 6500rpms. (THR comes to mind.. see video)
My advice would be to buy a nice midpipe, and a nice catback exhaust system. The exhaust note of a 4.6 is the best thing we got going for us so i say flaunt it. Suspension mods are always good, a nice set of wheels, lowering springs, subframe connectors, and better bushings (or just new control arms) would be on my list.
I would not spend money on things such as throttle body/plenum n such, for $300-500 the gains you get are depressing.
If you are paying on a 100,000 mile car for the next 4 years then you sound like me, in that money may not be piled up around you, I'd advice keeping the high dollar low hp mods to a minimum, when you get done and count the dollars you spent they soon add up to what going with a power adder in the begining would have cost.

You have the same question that I have been asking myself and what I came up with was to get a new engine. I always see low mileage(30k) PI engines gor for less than $2,000 now and then. What all they come with(acc, intake, heads) depends. But what I came up with is to just replace the engine with a low mileage one or refurbushed one. Then go modding. I don't know how soon you are looking to supercharge, but I say take the extra time to save and get a new/used engine. Especially if you got 3.5-4 yrs left of payment. That way if it take you 1.5-2 yrs to do it, the last two yrs of payment you could just about be worry free.
