Put 2 high-flow cats on your car. It'll tame the sound.

I check by having a friend help plugthe exhaust tips for a couple seconds while someone runs around looking for leaks.

IMO i have flowmasters, everybody dawgs em but with the right setup they sound pretty good. i have an o/r H and 40's. id luv to have some STINGERS but ima broke college kid so no deal. stick some flows on it and youll be happy. theyre loud at WOT and semi loud cruisin. people will say that they drone realy bad but mine dont, and ull get some drone with any muffler. if you want really quiet then get magnaflow. but dont let people fool you they are quiet. after goin from magnapacks to the chambered magnaflow youll kick yourself. just my .02

What timing, I just got done taking my O/R BBK X Pipe out. I have an 01 GT with the Magnapack catback, here is what issues I had. I found on the driver side exhaust manafold there are spacers on the header bolts for the stock X pipe, this was not accounted for on my pipe, also I believe the new X was just a little shorter causing the manafold connection to not seal properly, this caused a vibration that would loosen the rear X connection, so after driving for a few days at 2500rpm it would vibrate like a heat shield was loose. Loud, Loud, man you are not kidding, I was heard clearly 7 blocks away in downtown San Diego; I mean hey, we all own Mustangs here so advertising your destroying some punk in an Escort is just a Ford victory, but telegraphing every trooper in a 3 county area is just not good motoring. My exhaust shop recommended the O/R X and Magnaflow mufflers instead of the straight through, old school, glass pack style. This should defuse the straight through volume. Be sure and check your bolts, no matter how tight I made them they would loosen up and some of the volume was caused by this.

I do need to add though, I was met in 3 differant parking lots by other people who just wanted to stop and tell me how awesome my Stang sounded; perfect for my already well fed ego; problem is the paranoia of daily driving made it uncomfortable. I am thinking about cutting my stock pipe and welding in an X behind the cats then going to a Magnaflow muffler (Believe it or not this is the only way to run an X leagally in CA. Sucks, but everybody needs a tree to huge.

Peace and Happy New Year.

Magnaflows on an O/R setup is not quietby any means.

BBK shorties, O/RMagnaflow X, Magnaflow Catback. Its suprisingly loud at idle, and Obnouxously loud at any kind of hard throttle. I cant even really have a conversation at 2500rpm.
