dyno prep
So Tuesday I'm heading into the dyno for the first time after i get my 3:73's in, and first time getting a tune (just got an SCT handheld with the gears).
I'll be running at least 91 octane and i just changed my oil a few days ago....is there anything else I should do to prep for the dyno...I dont expect huge numbers as all i have is the CAI and UDPs currently...but I'm doing it just to see what numbers I'm starting with....what can I expect? 220? 230?

RE: dyno prep
i dont think anything else is really necessary except showing up
sorry to hijack your thread...but i have a question on this subject also:
I am taking my car to a mustang shop to have a SQ trim mongoose kit put on and dyno tuned...ive never had the car dyno tuned before. It is time for a oil change, but would it be a waste changing the oil before i go because in order to install the blower will they do this?? just curious, and would like to save some money and time!

RE: dyno prep
ok cool thanks for the link
i was just wondering if there was anything I might do to make the car run better on the dyno, maybe get that seafoam stuff, i dunno....I've heard...again HEARD of people doing a run and making X amount of power, tweaking or cleaning the throttle body and making a 2-3 more...dont know if its all myth.
I know 2-3 HP isnt going to win or lose a race, I just want to have the car running the best I can before I bring it in.
Also, I've been holding out as long as I can on getting new rear tires since i hardly drive it in the winter....will slightly bald tires impact it at all? just curious

RE: dyno prep
Well if you wanna do that, you should clean your throttle body with some throttle body cleaner. Also you should get some quick drying electric components cleaner spray and clean your MAF sensor. Be careful thought because its delicate, but I know of people losing a few hp and having ****ed up readings because of a dirty MAF. You should be able to get both cleaners at like Autozone or something

RE: dyno prep
thanks guys, i'll post when i get the numbers...i just want to know my base (relatively) as I have lotsa mods comin...plus itll be cool to document it as I do more to it...make a typical and cheesy YouTube video....you know the drill haha
plus, I think I'm gonna feel like I have 50 more horsepower after I get the gears on and have it tuned
thats what i'm excited about the most....
