Default EXTREME EMERGENCY!! 4.6 Electrical power!

Hey guys, a friend of mine borrowed my 01 GT today and went about 40 miles away on the way back, he noticed that the car wouldent start so he had to get it jumped and about 30 miles away again! The driver in front of him hit his breaks, and the car started to shake and then shut down once again then having to get it jumped for the second time to make it back home! What could be the problem any of my mods causing it?

The alternator is probably shot.

Alternator!!!!

I think I'm going to put something in my sig about "IF YOU BUY A CAR YOU SHOULD OWN A MULTIMETER!" 90% of all electrical problem could be trouble shot and fixed yourself.

i had a similar problem but with a ford explore we went out mudding with it really late started at 12:00 mid night and our friend got stuck in a ditch...so we got out of the truck and turned it off..once we got out my friends truck we went to hop in our explore and it wasn't startin so we thought a. it hydro locked or b. the alternor is fried this all happened at 2:45 in the morning...so we thought were totally srcewed well we sum how got it started and got out of there as we were driving it just died on us again .....so after cursing and wondering wut the hell it was we figured out it was the damn connections to the battery which was quite odd.. but w.e point being just tighten down everything just got lose probly from a bumby ride.

try this to check if the alternator is bad... get the car running, and then disconnect the battery. if the alt is running fine it will stay running (since it will now be powering the car) if it is bad the car will die (meaning that the battery had to pull all the load)

You can also check your engine grounds and battery ground connection. I had the same problem on my 01 Vic Police and on my 96 GT and I had to reterminate my battery ground to fix the problem.
