3.73 and 4.10 gears are the best gears you can put in your stang for street racing; even if you race it at the track "stock for stock". It will however drop your gasmilage but the power gains will be worth it. Do what I do, ask questions! See if you can drive a friends car with those gears and feel which you like the best and buy those gears.

depends, they switched the tranny that year, if you have the t3650 then its not enough and you want 4.30s

The most noticealbe gas mileage drops will be when your running around at WOT..

daily driving, particuarly light traffic , or cruising around at 45-55 wont be too much worse...
ive never done an actual gas mileage test, but when i was babying the **** out of it for about 2 weeks, i averaged around 23 in a mix of city and country roads...

but, that was shifting at 2K all the time,, def. what you WONT be doing after you get your 4.10's in

yea no kiddin'

Before I got my 4.10s I didn't really go WOT much...I wanted to though, but **** if I hit redline in second gear I'm going way beyond the speed limit...

But with the 4.10s now I can go though 1st (damn no traction anyway) and 2nd and not worry (as much) about the speed limit.

The only thing I hate about my 4.10s is that I can't get **** for traction in 1st....I need some DRs and practice mayn

So going from the stock gears to 3.73's gave me 8/10 of a second off the 1/4 mile. What do y'all think my 1/4 mile would drop if I went 4.10's? I'm just trying to decide if it's worth it to pay the installation again.

4.10's can drop 1 second to a second and half depending on driver and traction... 4.10's are the best, to many people worry about this question WAY too much.. your only talkin 400rpm difference, but its all the difference in the world. Gas mileage is fine, if you dont beat it, you might lose 3-5mpg (but I drive on the highway a good bit) so its really not a big deal, the acceleration difference is well worth it, then add a blower and youre really having fun
