Im thinking of buying a 96 GT, but one problem is he says that 5th and Reverse gear grinds when going in. What does that mean? he said when he had a new clutch installed ~6months ago the guy said the gears needed to be alinged, could that be the problem? Thanks!

 

doubt it, its the synchros i bet. although, usually second and third give you problems. Dont see to many fast shifts to 5th.

 

Hmm. How hard are the snycros to change? Also, Im looking at another GT that doesnt have a 3rd gear at all. He says it wont go into 3rd gear......But that car is super clean. Could that also be the syncros? Thanks!

 

You have to rebuild the tranny to fix the synchros, i need it done to my cobra

 

I guess no third gear at all would also need a rebuild then? also the syncros?

 

And what trannys will just bolt in?
