P1506 Idle Air Control Over Speed Error, i just got what it is supposed to mean from the error code post on here but i am not sure what exactly it means in stupid people terms, can anyone explain.

 

Clean your IAC, unplug the battery for about 10-15 min, hook it back up, and go for a test drive to see if it throws the code again.

 

Heres what it looks like in case you have no idea.

I have cleand that already, last week but i did not unhook the batt to clear the code i will try that in a min and let you know

 

i have a code description for PO506:
description: the pcm attempts to control engine speed during KOER self-test. the test fails when the desired rpm could not be reaced or contrlled during the self-test

possible causes:
- iac circuit shorted to pwr
-vpwr to iac solenoid open
- iac circuit open
-damaged iac valve
-damaged pcm
- air inlet is plugged

diagnostic aides
the iac solenoid resistance is from 6 to 13 ohms. monitor iac pid duty cycles and/or voltage.
