In an effort to dethrone one of my best friends with an '03 Supercharged ZO6, I decided to take my 1996 GT (argueably the most hated pony of all time) and set it up so it can STOMP the New 'C6 ZO6 (I HOPE!). I figure once I show him up in his '03 he'll immediately go out and get the new one. It'll be awhile before he supercharges that so I'll have some time to have fun with it. The same guy who set up his car with the engine and SuperCharger is doing my car. The complete install is being documented on his Web site and can be seen at http://www.vettetech.com/projects/96...g/aarons96.htm and Steve's install can be seen here at http://www.vettetech.com/projects/st.../stevesz06.htm. I'll keep you guys posted after each update.
Hey are those mud flaps on your Mustang???

Its not always about power that makes someone want a car. Ipersonally would not trade the sn95 body style for a newer edge style mustang. Although I would for the new 05-07, anyways just a thought.

your username is low 11s...what do you have that runs low 11s?

and im pretty sure that youre going to need to do better than low 11s to "Stomp" a C6 Z06...(if the Z06 is well driven)
The car does consistant Low11s the way it is now; AFR heads, Comp cam, intake, S-Trim, exhaust.

No! Those are the optional factory air bags for the tires.

The reason hes doing this to his 96 is because everyone and their mother says " oh just go buy a terminiator and mod it". He wants something that is one of a kind.
Someone with a vision and a little imagination, thanks for speaking up! You'll do well out there in the HP war, may the Horse be with you!!

Nice set up. I feel bad for all the crap people that don't know their *** from a hot rock on this forum are going to talk about it. After reading these posts, it's pretty apparent that most of these guys don't have a clue as to what they're looking at or for in the pictures of your new motor. Keep us updated. I'd love to see what kind of numbers/times it turns out.

GOD BLESS YOU!!! This is what makes you the site Moderator, you can actually read and comprehend. I was starting to believe what all the Corvette owners say about Mustang owners having an IQ of 4.6 and 5.0. The whole purpose of going this route is because it blows the Terminator and ZO6 away. This set up should be right around 600 rwhp before the 150 nitrous shot. For those who didn't visit the site or dont like to read, its afully forged 4.6 with a ProCharger D-1SC. If you know ProChargers then you know what kind of applications the D1-SC is for. With the money this job is costing me I could've bought a stock '04 Cobra or '02 -'03 ZO6 and been like everybody else with a stock set-up. And another thing, use your head! Why would I spend all this money and effort and go with a plastic Intake??

yes the terminator is the most over rated thing right now, its become our teen followings version of the srt-4...
cobras have alot of positives.. but guess what it costs more and its not nearly as good as what you could do if you spent the difference modding your own.... alot of smoke blowing going on around here, its really simple - just add up the modds and the performance they would give - then compare the cost of the cobra car upgrade - plus the parts to upgrade it... it loses everytime

however i suppose you could buy a cobra..then slap a 150-200 shot on there... then that would make the comparison closer to even

Hey,

Just finished watching NOPI Tunervision on the Speed Channel.

You might just decide to buy you a Honda Civic and mod it--many run in the 8-10's, then
you can laugh your behind off blowing him away in a 4-cylinder grocery getter.

Holy CRAP, AARON and Sidewayz! This is SO true!

Here's whatI did NOT do: exactly that - visit the site and read the links, so I came off like, as you pointed out, a fanboy, which I am not (all evidence to the contary).
After actually visiting the site and reading your buildup, it's very clear that you are taking the high road, doing thisextremely WELLand on the road less traveled. What I was thinking was a guy trying to get a run-of-the-mill non-PI GT to run with a Z06 is actually a guy (you, low11s) who is doing things from the ground up the RIGHT WAY, dropping some SERIOUS chili on a legitimate and ***** out forged 2V that makes serious groundpounding power (pun intended). Could you spend less on something more "conventional" and maybeget to Z06 decimation station?Of course, but I'm with you - if you have the corn, why do it like everyone else? Take a stand!

You're doing it right, as if you needed the likes of ME to tell YOU that! The rest of 'em (present company included) that previously tried to "give you advice" on what to do to build a Z06 eating 96 Stang were just simply self-owning themselves. ESPECIALLY if, like me, they didn't take the time to actually READ what you had already done, which 99% of us would give our left nut to put together. [8D]

Good job on that build, brother. That OWNS! Please, despite the ignorance I showed, keep us posted with dyno and track numbers!

And please accept my sincere apology for coming off like a know-nothing blind faith type fan. It'll take a while to work that one off!! Keep up the good work. [sm=smiley20.gif]
