ok...so ive got the flywheel off but now the damn exhaust is in the way of the tranny to drop...i just found out that theres 3 bolts on my starter.....soooo gay, anyway, so now ive gotta take the starter out to get the exhaust off and then i think i can FINALLY get the tranny unbolted...GOOD LORD, im gonna have to write a letter to Ford and tell them to rethink their engineering skills...anyway, if anyone have any advice or better ways to get around some of this stuff, please let me know...thanks

I guess if you've got 3 bolts on the starter you've got a 3650.

When we did my trans in my 97 4v we had to torch ALL the bolts that connected the h pipe, and we ended up breaking a couple swivel sockets on the way.

Why are you putting in a torque converter in your mustang??? I guess it's auto???

Wow, good luck bra

well, im assuming there are 3 bolts on it cause i took out 2 and it still wont come loose...some of the bolts for the exhaust came off without removing the starter, but theres 1 that the swivel socket cant get to without removing the starter and the starter is a bitch...i have whatever tranny comes stock in the 2001 gt's...i think its a 4R70W or something like that, i know its AODE

geez man. your attacking a aod on jack stands (i'm assuming.)

That's a B.I.T.C.H!!!

I'd never attempt that, ESPECIALLY with an auto.

****, your nuts. GL with the install though.

yes there are 3 bolts, and the top one is a BITCH. have patience, plenty of extensions, and about a 12 packs. I'd reccommend wearing some gloves too
