O/R or Catted Midpipe
I've finally decided to go with only a midpipe on my Mach 1 (no headers, since they are pretty none restrictive stock)
I've already got an SLP LM1 catback, and I want a midpipe to make it less raspy and deeper (obviously an H-pipe, not an X...but what about Prochamber?)
What would you recommend to compliment the LM1 for a reasonable price--O/R or Catted--Clips if you have any, thanks!!!
and with O/R I know you need MILs, but is it true that you can smell the fumes with O/R pipes?

haha yeah I've been reading a lot about midpipes, and some people complain that if they are stopped at a light, for example, with the windows down and an O/R pipe, the fumes can become irritating.
I don't think I'd really care--I mainly want performance and something to take the standard rasp of the LM1s down a little--make it a little deeper, you know? That's why I figured H-pipe, or maybe Prochamber

X-pipes are for/sound best on Straight mufflers (i.e. SLP)
H-Pipes are for/sound best on Chambered mufflers (i.e. Flowmaster)
I just read that...but if I add an X-pipe to the SLP LM1s will it make it even more raspy? I want it to be deeper, and obviously it will be louder with any midpipe...what do I go with--X or H?

Most people would say x with that catback. If you want clips try mach1registry.com in the exhaust section im sure you'll find what you need. As far as the fumes, i never noticed any and ive had both so i dk about that. IMO, if you go with a o/r midpipe you WILL regret it if you drive your car everyday. With the lm1s its just obnoxiously loud and it will get on your nerves.
It is my daily driver, but I'm getting a midpipe because the folks from the mach1registry recommended changing out midpipes, since they are quite restrictive, and forget about headers since they are good from the factory...
I assumed with an H-pipe it would smooth out the LM1 rasp and make it deeper/nicer tone while still being very loud...but everybody seems to be recommending X-pipes for the LM1s
I haven't come across many good quality videos, but I have come across the UPR X-pipe, which seems to be the best midpipe for the buck

Well, the LM1s are a little raspy with anything, but the X will definitely make it worse. If you want to smooth it out a little, I'd go for a catted pipe which certainly wont be quiet with LM1s, but will make it a little deeper than O/R. H or Prochamber is kind of up to you. I like my Prochamber a lot. My exhaust has a quiet deep rumble at idle that makes even my puny NPI almost sound cammed. I love the sound of it. If you hit the gas though, it still gets loud, so I have the best of both worlds. The Mac mufflers are chambered though, so you're LM1s are going to be louder than mine all around, but I think the way it works is the Prochamber is quiet and deep like an H, but at WOT it gets louder like halfway between an H and an X. So you might be good with a catted H.
As for the fumes, yes, you can definitely smell them, however I've never thought it smelled so strong that it was annoying me. Personally I love the smell.
It smells just like an old muscle car before the times of emissions. I wouldn't worry about the smell too much, it's not bad.
