Default Mach 1 engine.

How well does the mach 1 engine react to bolt-on's? Will i see close to nothing in gains like with the 4.6 2v or willthe 4v be moreforgiving and give me sexier numbers that will make fairly decent numbers if i stick with N/A. Just an idea of mine, i want a good platform to drop in my 04 GT and build onto. The terminator engine is just a bit out of my reach($14000) while i can get a Mach 1 for 5-$6000 and its a very nice engine.

the 4v will give you a much better reaction to simple boltons, but it doesn't have the forged internals of the cobra motor... if you want serious FI power than I'd advise you to save up for the cobra block... or you can build up the mach 1 motor... it's pretty much up to you but the 4v>2v

I would rather get a better engine then spend my cash on a F/I for the 2V. Im not looking to make prodigeous amounts of power. Just something respectable to work on.

Hey. heres what I tried to send you the other day. Enjoy

As I am no "expert" in nitrous, I would be more than happy to get you pointed
in the right direction. After a little searching, I see that you have a 04 GT.
Perfect. Fresh meat. lol

Theres basically one question you need to ask yourself when looking at a
nitrous set-up. How serious are you? Are you looking for something to spray
occasionally on the street to waste an LS1? Or are you looking for a nice
dependable durable set up for raw track times?

DRY KIT
If you want something fun on the street, with the capability of hitting 75-100
hp, then you might want to check out a "dry" kit. DRY refers the the way the
nitrous is injected into the engine. If inserts the N20 into the intake, then
depends on the oxygen sensors to bring in more fuel.

Basically your car is just driving along, and all of the sudden, your 02
sensors are like HOLY @#$% thats a lottaoxygen coming in here, I better dump in
more fuel to compensate. Dry kits will get you nice gains, and are in entirety
just simplier. Most kits (as with wet) come with a 10lb bottle, and "most" of
the parts you will need. ITs a pretty simple install, and most "good" kits
will surely come with instructions. Heres some nice dry kits to look at.

ZEX DRY KIT

Obviously, theres NOS, and a couple others. Beware of "cheap" brands. Used
Brand name is ok, but new cheap stuff is ****. Dry, I'd go Zex, but I wouldnt
go dry. lol

WET KITS

Wet kits are the preferred kits of most racers. You will feel a much harder
"HIT" from a wet kit. WET refers to the way the nitrous is injected into the
engine. WET kits spray N20 into the engine just like DRY KITS, but they also
spray fuel at the same time. There are two seperate solenoids. It DOES NOT
rely on the o2's to compensate for more oxygen. You will see much more
consistant/harder hits with WET. It is considered safer.

You may hear someone blabber on about, "my g/f's mom's brother's son in law
blew up his car on a wet kit." If tuned imporperly, a wet N20 kit can puddle
in the intake manifold, and blow it to pieces. Properly installed tuned kit
will have no problem. catosprophic engine damage is almost always installation
error. OR, improper tuning. A general rule of thumb is used for pulling timing
and running colder plugs. It would NOT hurt to spray it for the first time on
the dyno. The NX kit below is good from 50hp to 300!!!!!!!!!!! Its badass. NX
FTW

NX WET KIT<<<<< I have this, and wouldnt trade it for anything!!!!!

WOT switches
Most kits these days come with a WIDE OPEN THROTTLE SWITCH. It is just a
safety precaution. If anything goes awry, just get off the throttle, and it
will stop spraying. Easy as that. If you get a kit, use the WOT please. NX and
Zex come with the kit.

Window Swtiches

Windows switches let you program your Kit to only spray in a certain RPM
"window". Spraying b4 3krpm's could cause detonation. Spraying up near the
revlimiter is attempted SUICIDE. revlimiter cuts fuel. less fuel= lean
mixture= bye bye 4.6. A window will let your kit spray at 3k, and stop at
5700rpm, incase you miss a shift, your motor wont grenade. GREAT IDEAS.
wouldnt run without one. I reccomend the ZEX self contained window.

Purge

Not only do they look cool, but they really do serve a purpose. Purging gets
all the air out of the line, and allows for a harder, more instant "hit". And
you get to showoff in front of your freinds "fast and the furious" style. lol.
not really, but anyways. Any purge will do.

FPSS

Fuel Pressure Safety Switch is just what it sounds like. It cuts off your N20
system if your fuel pressure get too low. Again, not enough fuel=lean=kaboom!
Great idea if you arent running an aftermarket fuel pump. I got an NX one on
my car.

Theres an assload of other crap you can buy for a kit. Blow down tubes, bottle
warmers, remote openers, etc.........

Any more questions, just shoot. I'm bored as hell. lol.

Good luck, and if you missed it up there, GET DYNO TUNED, AND NX WET FTW.

When you are ready to buy, PM FULLAUTO on Mustang forums. This dude is the
mackdaddy of Nitrous, as well as an OFFICIAL NX DEALER and MUSTANG FORUMS
SPONSOR. He will hook you up like no other. Seriously.

PEACE,

Zach
