After a brief look through my 1k+ joke files, I couldn't find the original...so here's a paraphrase:
A gynecologist had decided to switch careers. Since he had a love for fast cars, he decided maybe being a mechanic would be a good choice.
So, he goes to his local tech school and enrolls in an mechanic's class.
He had no problem remembering the material, but was worried about the final exam. Every person in the class would have to remove an engine from a car and rebuild it.
So, the week of the final exam came up. The doctor worked feverishly. He noticed after a couple days that everyone else was finished, and he was only half done.
The next Monday, he nervously entered the professor's office to receive his final grade.
The professor just looked up and shook his head. "I've seen people that were slow and meticulous, but your really take the cake. I have to give you the 'A'. Although the engine you rebuilt wasn't as good as it should have been, I've never seen anyone rebuild an entire engine through the tail pipe before."
