Default new build 4.6

Own a 99GT and am going to do a rebuild. I plan to do 30 over on the block with all forged internals. I need some input on s/c vs nitrous. Want to stay with 2v and would like to get 425-450hp at the tire. Bottom line I have a buddy with an 06 Z06 and I'm tired of listening to how fast it is.

You'll need a big shot to get 400+ rwhp on just giggle gas. Since your rebuilding the motor anyways (good call) buy a nice quality supercharger (ie: KB, Paxton, or any of the GOOD brands) and just boost the **** out of it...until you hit the next stump which is the tranny which is good until about 550 I believe. Don't stop at 425-450. Make it a murder.

Depends on how you build your engine and the amount of money you are willing to spend. High compression + nitrous= low cost. Low compression+ supercharger = high cost. Full bolt on car with heads and cams with nitrous will easily hit your goal. Full bolt on car with heads and cams with supercharger will also hit your goal. With a supercharger the poweer is always there, with nitrous its there when you need it.

Can I ask why .030 over? Why not just go .020 over? Any boring is just to clean up the cylinder walls. You wont see any kind of gain.
