Default Ram air project need help

When I ordered my black head lights one came broken so they shipped me a new one. I have been playing around with it and this is how far I have gotten. But I need some help for the work behind it.

This is why I got the light for free

With the reflector cut out

in the car, you can see the stuff in the way

with the light out of the car you can hardly see the penile mark of what has to be cut

Is it safe to cut this out of the way?

Clever idea. Duct tape off the chrome reflector part and bore out that bulb opening as wide as you can. I think i may do that with my old headlights..

Is this for track only? How are you putting a filter on?

Lol probably for track only, i dont think its legal to drive with a cracked headlight The filter, im assuming, would be put on normally. He would have to cut out that metal behind the headlight for it to be effective as well. Personally, its easier to just remove the headlight all together and cut out the metal, but i guess if you want it to look normal, this would be the way to do it.

Well I am thinking that I can use it on the street as long as it's during the day. The turn signal will still work. it's like driving with the lights off. But yes for the track mostly.

I was wondering about the support on the center core.

I think you will be fine on the support. I wish i had the kind of money to do things like this, buy new headlights just to cut to bits. Anyways its a crafty idea, I am not sure how much performance you will gain from it however.

I was reading some place that at 50 it = 10hp, but at leaset it will be the best day time cold air intake around.

Well to make full use of the opening, you'd need make a plastic enclosure around the filter, holding in all that air. 90% of it is just going to flow off the filter.

That would make it better, but even without it, it would be better than nothing. It's like taking the headlight out.
