Default X-pipe vs. H-pipe...

hey guys. i have an h-pipe on my 02 gt right now.
i was thinking of getting either an x or another h w/o cats.
(please save the "its illegal" crap)
which one is better in sound/quality/price...etc.
have you had any personal experience with any of them.
can you point me in the right direction? thanks.

I have an H-Pipe on my car now, but when I do the PI swap, I'm using an X-Pipe. I like the sound of an X more. If you're interested, I have a Pypes O/R X-Pipe for sale that is barely used.

I think the quality is the same. The sound is different, though. The H-Pipe is louder and sounds good at lower RPMs where the X-Pipe is more raspy and sounds real good at higher RPMs.

ive had both and they both make the same power, only difference is sound. i like the H better, its a little deeper and and louder. the x sounds good but it gets a little raspy up high.

if you're going without cats, get an o/r H, don't get an o/r X. the o/r X's pop and crackle a little too much for my tastes. an X rumbles quite nicely and sounds good at cruising, not as good as an H though, but sounds like sex at WOT.

i'd save your money if you already have an aftermarket H and use that cash for something else.

I have an o/r X with flows and it sounds amazing to me... No crack no pops no rasp. Noone around here goes with H because they are in fact quieter.... I dont know what you guys have done to make H sound louder but i dont know.... But in the end
X = Louder, Racy sound
H = Little deeper, muscle rumble sound
Whatever you do as long as its an offroad pipe you will be happy.

Those who are saying X is omg rasp are just biased because they have one..... H and Xs are just pipesthat allow airflow a littledifferently... Its not going to be much different in sound. Your true sound and raspiness comes with what mufflers you put on it.
