e brake, quick fix?
hey yalls, just wondering would it be a bastard to tighten up my e brakes? iI habve like NOTHING there when i pull it, ive pulled it at 100 (cuz i knew nuthign would happen or hoped so) and it literally just was like nuthign was happening, ill prolly need new pads too cuz ive accidently driven it with the ebrakes on before thats how bad they are. So how hard is it to tighten it?

Drum or rear disc brakes?

RE: e brake, quick fix?
I dunno if this holds true for a '96, but the new edges have a ratcheting mechanism that self-adjusts the e-brake each time you pull it, so you don't need to adjust it.

RE: e brake, quick fix?
ever sn95 i driven had that weird e-brake syndrome. If u replace ur pads im sure it will tighten a bit. but besides that i believe its a cable that u tighten

RE: e brake, quick fix?
is it clicking at all? or is it just not enuff to catch? mine didnt rachet 1 time and i took apart in stuff all around it and the thing that rachets was kinda dirty and all....i sprayed WD-40 on it and did it a few more time and it cleared it right up...works ever since

RE: e brake, quick fix?
My e-brake holds pretty well... I tested it one time in the garage when my foot slipped off the clutch. Thank goodness for slick garage floors and a good e-brake!

my 98's e-brake was very different compared to my 02 i have now. it felt like there was more slack left to be tightened up.
