Dan and Kaz, what do you guys think? Just curious on your thoughts.

I don't know how much much the 01 Cobra motor can hold safely. And of course I know it's not forged. But Mt. Twigbert is at 450+RWHP...And If he felt it with a pulley on, he would want it.

a pulley would liven it up a lot... however, i dont know how strong those motors are..

I have an aquaintance that has a 01' KB Cobra, around 470rwhp and 420ish lb ft torque. and his motor has been fine. However I implore that if he does a pulley change he does all the cooling mods... our motors are forged and still have a problem with the heat!

I might do a lower pulley, this way it expands his torque output... I don't know how much i'd trust the motor with an aftermarket upper pulley. I'd just be worried about parts blowing up... but it's also a lot to do with his tune also.

Edit: maybe a 3.10" pulley... that should give him a bit more power, and like a 4# lower... that'd create some nice numbers - but then he also has to worry about his clutch, the 3650 taking a crap on him too.

I felt somewhat the same. Assuming his internals could hold the additional power the pulley would produce, if he were to have problems, I bet it would be heat related.

And of course a good tune is a MUST.

If Mt. Twigbert is holding that much power on his Cobra, and that Kenne Bell Cobra you know is at 470RWHP, I think he'd be in good shape with a 2.93. I orginally thought 3.10 pulley would be coo, butit's notTHAT much of a difference from stock. Especially when you compare it to a 2.93 or even a 2.76. But like I said, I have no idea how much those motors can hold on stock internals. JMO.

thats why i said like a 3.1 w/ a 4# lower... get good midrange torque and not overspinning the eaton.... but he would need an aftermarket heat exchanger... assuming he doesnt haveo ne now
