As i was driving today my car shut off and continued to do so. The rpms will drop really low then it just shuts right off. No check engine light or anything. Sometimes it will start right up and drive fine then you come to a light and nothing,just shuts off. Any ideas??? On my old avenger i had a simliar problem and it was the crank position sensor?? My rides an 02 5spd gt with 11,000 miles. Help!!

 

Clean your IAC.

 

Sounds like your IAC to me.

 

Did you clean your airfilter anytime recently? If you forgot to plug back in your MAF it will act just like that.. did that on my cobra once[&:] Just check the connections along your intake line and clean the IAC, etc...

 

I just tried cleaning the iac and its still stalling.[:@] I've to keep blipping the throttle to keep it running. I followed the article from modded mustang on cleaning it.

 

IMO cleaning the IAC is useless.

It needs to be replaced, especially if you are throwing no codes...

 

How much do the IAC cost?

 

I called autozone and they've them for $69.99. Good deal or should i look elsewhere?

 

lol... man I have been dealing with your problem for like two years. Its not my IAC, TPS, EGR valve... I replaced all of those. I bought some MAF cleaner, cleaned it nothing... I have checked the voltage on my TPS and tuned that for best setting.. Didnt help... I just got used to it... I just always do heal toe when ever I brake... Just blip it will a little gas to keep from stalling... I am going to eventually got the Pro Racer software from SCT and just mess with that software to fix it... Im in the same boat buddy...
