anybody know the axle code for my car? sticker on the door jam says LE. has the 17 inch rims. don't know if that matters. thanxs..

 

Well, looks like 4 people have looked at this and havent helped you out. So here it is. Im guessing you mean code, as in axle ratio. Look at youre rear differential. On it you will see a axle tag. Its held in place by a diff cover bolt. 13 mill. bolt. Remove this and you can look to see as to what gears you have in it. OK. Good luck

 

no, dont do that....there is a tag on the right side (passenger) of the rear end...yep u gotta crawl under ur car.....there are TWO (2) lines.dont pay attention to the top line...look at the bottom like....mine says


3L27 8 8


that means 3.27:1 posi (or limited slip)...the 88 is obviously 8.8" rear end (in terms ...technically, that means the RING gear is 8.8" (dia))....


ther code reads left to right just like i typed it...if its a gt it will say either

3L27
2L73
3L08


in terms 3.27 or 3.08 or 2.73....you REALLY want 327...or 308 it ok too.....273 are highway gears...good for gas mileage and nOTHING but!
