Default OH CRAP remote battery

I'm guessing my remote battery is dead....here's the story

I'm sitting in my car at school, getting ready to get out and go to class. My keys were in my pocket, and I accidentally hit the alarm button.... yeah I know

The alarm goes off, and I'm trying to deactivate it with my remote...I pushed each button, nothing. So the alarm is going off for like a minute now, and I'm furious. I said **** it and put the key in the ignition, and started it...it stopped beeping. [&:]

Now this was a few weeks after I put my SCT tune on the car. Would that have any effect on the alarm system/keypad? Or do I just need a new battery?
