What would cause oil to drip out of my CAI?
Well on the 9th lap of my first race for the season my cobra shot another cam bolt through the valve cover. Still having problems diagnosing why this happened twice in 500 miles. anyways this time we noticed oil dripping out of my filter and the TBwas covered in oil. hopefully i didnt destroy a head as these are incredibly expensive.

Ouch[:@]
Is it a mist of oil on the filter or more of a splatter? I'd guess a breather hose(?) |
RE: What would cause oil to drip out of my filter
breather hose was clean and the filter had a steady stream of oil dripping from it.

my filter was dripping. turns out i just needed a new filter and o-ring. change both of them, and you should be in good shape.

Sometimes when you replace the oil filter, the old filter seal will stay on the engine side and you might not have noticed and installed a new filter meaning you just got a double seal making it not sit correctly and therefore causing the leak. Something simple to check for. But if thats not it, make sure you have the correct size filter.

Air filter not oil filter

Sounds like oil blow by. Same concept as combustion blow by. When you turn the car off or get off of it after WOT, a reverse vacuum is made (kind of like ported vacuum). I've seen it on almost every 5.4 Triton motor at Ford. It sucks... Anyway, it's most likely coming from a vent hose or PCV/hose, but I've seen it come throught the throttle body.
