most guys run xe274's so they don't have clearance issues. I know they are only .500 lift. Alot of guys have clearance troubles, but I'm sure they had one tooth outta line! If you properly guage them you should have no troubles!

I am running them. And yes my pistons had to be notched. Heres the vid I made right when I got it. It was untuned, and idling around 1000rpm, so it doesnt lope that great. It sounds alot better around 750rpms now.

Can you run the XE270's on PI heads or are they for Non-PI. Comp Cams catalog confuses the crap out of me... sorry

Just a question, by why go comp when there are companys like VT etc that make better 4.6L grinds and are basically only serving the modular/mustang community.

If nothing else, support the smaller companys that focus directly on mustangs, modulars in partciular. They cost about the same, make as much or more power, and can better answer your questions if you call them since they are so modular/mustang specific.

Yea I see your point. I guess its with the selction comp and such cams have that catch the attention. Such as "rough idle" and we know that stage 1 vt's dont lope too hard. Also another thing might be that comp is a little better known, but we should deff. be supporting the company's that are supporting us!

VT has just as big of a selection as comp does... and regardless you can order a custom grind from them for virtually the same price.

Of all the cam threads that I have read on this and other forums the only PTV issues that I have seen were with Comp and some others.

I have not seen this issue with VT (that is not to say there haven't been any but I have not seen it in my search).

I am in the process of finding a good shop to install cams for my car before I order them. I am going with VT.
