My tranny shifts fine into 1,3,4, and 5th, but when i shift fast into 2nd it grinds. I did just learn stick about a month ago but i do not think it is a driver fault...It only happens when i shift like really hard as if i were racing, which i am unable to do unless i leave in2nd from a roll.All other gears are fine...

Any ideas followed with prices to fix?

make sure the clutch is adjusted right if thats good it sounds like some bad synchronizers sometimes if u add some friction modifier to the tranny it could add a little mor life to the synchros

 

How much would it cost to replace the synchros?

sounds like your synchros are fugged!! my car used to do the same thing except mine would only grind when i shifted into 3rd. it started out like yours then started grinding every time i shifted into 3rd....didnt matter if i was driving hard or not. i ended up having to take my car in and having almost $3k worth of tranny work done. they replaced all the synchros, 2nd gear, 3rd gear, and some other stuff. thank god for extended warranties....only cost me $100

that was the cost from the ford dealership. if i wouldnt have had my extended warranty then the best bet would have been to buy a whole new tranny for a lot less than $3k or even a used tranny off a wrecked stang!

 

yeah, thats what im thinking too, still though, it kinda sucks...
