OBDII Code P0453
Does anyone have any experience with this code? I'mgoing to be trying to fix the issue soon. I recently changed the fuel pump but I'm not sure anything I did could cause this code to come on. I don't believe it happened in sync with the fuel pump swap, but I can't be sure so I'm not ruling anything out at this point. Let me know if you have any pointers.

P0453 Evaporative Emission Control System Pressure Sensor High Input
according to http://autorepair.about.com/cs/troub...l/bl_obd_4.htm
I don't know what that means...

The '03 Factory manual says this about P0453--FTP is Fuel Tank Pressure
P0453 - FTP Sensor Circuit High Voltage Detected
Description: The PCM monitors the EVAP control system FTP sensor input signal to the PCM. The test fails when the signal average jumps above a minimum allowable calibrated parameter.
Possible Causes:[*]FTP circuit open[*]VREF shorted to VPWR[*]Damaged PCM[*]FTP circuit shorted to VREF or VPWR[*]SIG RTN circuit open[*]Damaged FTP sensor [/ul]
Diagnostic Tips: FTP V PID reading greater than 4.50 volts with key ON and engine OFF or during any engine operating mode indicates a hard fault.

RE: OBDII Code P0453
According to the '03 shop manual it's an "inline" part of the fuel tank vapor control tube on the top of the fuel tank. It's an electrical sensor providing input to the PCM, so it could well be that it's unplugged or partially unplugged.

Do you know if this is the connector on the top of the tank that is part of the pigtail that connects to the fuel-pump? that's the only connector I can think of. I imagine that's what it could be, because I broke the plastic piece that holds it in place, but I want to make sure before I go about lowering my tank again, because that's a pain

RE: OBDII Code P0453
Are there any known issues with using the SVT pump and harness and throwing this code or did I just make a poor connection putting it back together? I noticed you have an SVT pump too, did you have to do anything special to get it to work? Is that how you became familiar with this particular sensor?

RE: OBDII Code P0453
No,,,you didnt change the harness, correct?Installed my SVT pump..and have had no problems with this code...after all,,the svt pump assembly,,you just use the pump only..maybe you are correct, and just didnt get it plugged in enough....
