First of all- Just bought 02 GT What tranny do I have? Second- When tires break loose I am getting what I assume is alot of wheel hop. What should I check to seee if something is wrong. (other than buying upper and lower control arms.

Well.... If you have a 3rd pedal its a standard....If not its an auto?

Check the sticker inside the driver door. Look under TR if there is a K you have a 3650. Make sure you still have your quad shocks.

If its a 5 speed, then its a Tremec 3650. You shouldnt be getting alot of wheel hop. Let's hope theres not an IRS under there. Its not probable, but its possible.

The control arms will clear that right up

Ya having an auto sucks. I just hate always running so darn consistent [>:]. And that whole 1.6% power i lose to have the better transmission is jsut so terrible! [:@]
And did i mention i miss having to change my syncros and missing gears? Those were the days.

I have an auto and a 5 speed Both GTs. I hate the auto so I gave it to the wife for a daily driver.

well the 02 should have the 3650, and wheel hop in a GT thats crazy i dont have a hint in my gt at all

+1.... this whole auto vs. manual thing is all on preference.... there's no true winner becuase eveyone has their own reasons for what they drive...


although it's completely understandable to say auto's kickarse!
