Need Fast Replys Please!
Ok guys, kind of off topic, but I just got my front pads replaced with ceramic ones from a shop, and they used to BARELY squeak, just BARELY. But now that they are changed, they squeak EVERY time I brake!!! Anyone know how I can fix this?!
Hmmm i had that problem with mine and i brought them back and they were like u didnt buy this little flim that goes on the pad that reduces squeaks. It could be that or maybe you need to take some break cleaner to them, but give it some times lots of times the brakes just need to be broken in cause they are new.
Well guys I read somewhere to go about 25mph and slam on brakes a couple of times to wear them in. So I tried and it does not squeak anymore!!! Thanks for the help anyways guys.
That process should be done everytime you change pads. My HAWK HPS pads came with directions to this.
6 moderate stops from 35-40
3-5 hard stops from 40-45
There is this stuff at autozone that is made specifically for this problem. It red goo crap that helps with piston/pad noise. Just do and ask for it. ITs like $3

your supposed to baby the brake pedal a few times from 35-0
then go from 35-0 and do that about 3x like an emergency stop, also if that doesnt stop it, the installer might have forgot to clean the rotors and left debri on em before the calipers were put back on

I heard that ceramic racing pads are much louder e.g. squealing. and watch out for crazy amounts of brake dust.
Those symtoms were from EBC red pads, greens are more like stock but brake better.
