Default Clutch install ??

My birthday is on Friday.I will hopefully be getting a king cobra clutch. I was wondering how much the average place charges to install it? If you guys have had a clutch installed what did you pay? Also will redline mt-90 tranny oil work or should I just pick up some royal purple? Thanks

my clutch is screwed too! i live in coastal georgia. i got labour only quotes forclutch replacement, ranging from $800!!! down to $325! I am going with the $325 because it was from a reputable transmission shop an the manager there was extremly knowedgable. All they do is transmission work, so they do that kind of work regularly.

Make sure that they resurface your flywheel if you are not upgrading it, aparently if they dont then you risk eating up your new clutch disk or it may not bed in correctly.

Also ask them if they plan on replacing your pinion bearing and seals since the transmission is out anyway

Why did you decide to upgrade? and why king cobra? I cant decide if i should get a lightweight flywheel installed or not

I have a mustang tunning book written by Sean Hyland. He suggests that a stock gt clutch will take at least an extra 100hp over stock!

I wanted something durable and will last for awhile. My car has 85k, 80k were put on by the previous owner so who knows what his driving style was. The clutch has a high engagement point so it is probably on its way out. How much is it to resurface the flywheel and what is the deal with the other two things you are talking about?

This is in the rear differential. You mean thePILOT bearing...lol and you only need to change them if they are showing signs of wear or have more than 50k on them. Pilot bearings are $10-$40 depending on brand and materials used
