BBK cold air intake??

on the 96-04 cold air intake kit does it come with a new mass air flow sensor cuz a buddy of mine has a 98 gt and is selling the car so he gave me the intake and i put it on and it pulled a ses light do i need to change the maf or what? when i got the intake it had his maf on it from the 98gt?

I have a 98 GT with a BBK CAI, they do not come with a new mass air. Mine never tripped a check engine light, but I'ver heard of some doing it saying the car is running lean due to an excess of intake air, but it's mostly been on the V6's I've seen that.

did it come with a silver dill to put ur maf in inbetween the elbow in the fliter and the tube going to the throttle body?

so u halft to take ur maf sensor out of the stock dill and put it in the one the kit comes from

I'm sorry, I didn't clarify. The kit didn't come with any new parts for the MAF, just new hoses for the intake manifold. I just bolted the MAF to the elbow that goes into the fender, then put the straight pipe on from the MAF to the TB, then connected the hoses.

You probably unplugged your maf with either the battery still connected or it's dirty. I'm running the same intake on mine with no problems.

Yeah I did go out and get some CRC MAF cleaner. works lovely and dries super quick, may wanna try that.
