Default Dyno pricing

I have not had my car dyno before but I was wondering what the average cost was. I only have minor bolt-ons on my car, but o/r H without cats, would it even be worth it. Or would it be more economical to buy a hand tuner?

You need to buy a tuner inorder to get a dyno tune. Most places $600 for a tunner and a tune. But with just minor bolt ons it is a waste of money.

when i went to get mine tuned they just charged me for a reflash of the computer, and used the tuner they had in house to do it. i cant go back and change anything, but why would i want to change a tune done by a pro?

i got it at a group rate and cost me 50 for the dyno time and 100 for the reflash.

Average cost for 3 pulls is about 55-95 depending on the shop. A tune on the dyno is usually about 200-300, but that's if you have a tuner already. If not, you'll need a tuner. They're no more than 400.

80 for 2 pulls on the dyno and 400 to tune the car on the dyno.

+1

And on a mild bolton car a custom tune is nearly worthless. If you just want to get on the dyno and make a run after your handheld gets in though it would be a good idea. You can check the a/f ratio to see if the tuner is helping or hurting, and have a concrete number to work from.

I bought a brand new SCT Xcal2. Its was like $360. I paid $400 for my street tune and $100 for my nitrous tune ( and any other tunes I may need in the future are also gonna be $100)

Thats close to $1000 just in tuning and software and tax of course.

thanks for the info. Being that it's my daily drive, I haven't put too much into it, BUT am about about to buy a truck and will start putting some time and money into the car. I wanted to see if it was worth it to have a baseline tune, that way I can see what gains I get from every part/combo that I put on.
