HELP with this code!!! *UPDATE*
hey guys i need ur help here. I dunno if u remember my car threw a P0190 code (fuel rail pressure sensor) at the track but i cleared it and it never came up, i think it was a loose connection. Now when i was in VA, i started pulling out of a gas station nice and slow in first and it threw the CEL on. This time it was a P0172 (Bank 2 going lean). I was wondering if this happened to anyone else and what the problem was? I was thinking it mightve been the O2 sensor, but i dunno. I cleared that code also and drove it all the way back from VA to NC w/o any problems. Any input is appreciated. Thanks

RE: HELP with this code!!!
I don't have any codes on the mustang and I haven't except the DPFE (EGR) code. My p71 crown vic is throwing that same exact code and I believe it is the O2 sensor. It's like pulling teeth to get any work done on it tho. Are your O2's not turned off in your tune? I'd just make sure thats what is throwing the code and then have your tuner shut them off. Or buy some MIL eliminators.

well see thats the thing, i have mils, and the rear O2s dont have anything to do with air/fuel mixture, its the front ones. I obviously cant turn off the front ones for that same reason. Now the only thing that bothers me is whether im actually going lean in Bank 2 and why; or whether the front O2 sensor is just effing up.

The front ones are heat sensors and the rears are the a/f checkers so I've been told. Maybe my info is backwards. I'd definately get it to a dyno and have a wideband O2 check done on it just to be sure.

RE: HELP with this code!!!
hmm...i dunno i mean i had very good fuel pressure the whole time and my pump is only about a year old (svt pump). Ill try to take it to my tuner and see what he says i guess. The weird thing is that all this started happening after i changed my intake manifold. And now i smell raw fuel coming from the engine bay (when the vent is on). Ive checked for any leaks and its all dry. I thought it was the leftover fuel i spilled from the rail during the install but i would think it would go away after a while. This really sux, i hate not knowing whats wrong with the car. anyone else? Thanks for the replies so far...

RE: HELP with this code!!!
My buddy just had the same code. I checked his fuel pressure sensor and it is getting the correct volts all vacume lines were hooked up on the regulater but his fuel was cutting out. He had a SVT pump brand new installed the day before. I changed out the pump and his car runs perfect now.

RE: HELP with this code!!!
well i just talked to my tuner and made the appointment to get it on the dyno and check all the a/f ratios. He said if both codes were thrown for one bank (both P0190 and P0172 were on bank 2), then its probably not a fuel problem but the driver side front 02 sensor going bad. So wish me luck on tuesday morning and ill let yall know the outcome.
