Default Fuel Filter Won't Come Off! Help Please!

Ok so i start the car, unplug the pump, runs for about 5 seconds then it dies. I go under the car and ive just spent 30 minutes trying to tug the dam filter off and it Just wont come off!! Do I need some kind of special tool to get it off? I know on the sn95 you dont but are the new edges any different or somethin? I have a 2000. Any input much appreciated! And yes I know it is the wrong section but no one in the V6 section is answering and I would really like to finish the job tonight if possible!

lol, go to your local car place and get the fuel filter tool. if you've been under there pulling on it for hours, your arms are gonna hurt tomorrow.

I just did this on my '99 and it was kinda a PITA for me. You need the tool but I spent like 30 minutes trying to physically take the filter off using the tool. Turns out you just shove it inside the opening and apply some pressure then take it out and yank on the filter and it will come out. I can be more specific if you get the tool and still can't figure it out but you need the tool for sure.

Dont use that tool get the small mulit colored tools. They are way easier to use. I had one of those and it sucks and is now in the woods behind my house somewhere.
