Help Please

O.K. I have an 07 GT. I took it to a local shop' they were so called "the best around here."
7000$ later I pick up my car turbo and all and go 8 miles and she throws a rod. They told me it would be safe and reliable. " At 9 psi you won't have any problems with the motor.
After it throws a rod they said sorry. Man was I pissed.

After I get my car back from them I plan on doing just that. I think they screwed it up on the dyno. Do you think that is likly.
They are going to charge me 3000$ to put in the short block.
I am wondering if I should not let them dyno it. What do you guys think

RE: Help Please

I think if you bring your car back to a shop that blew your motor once already, you can't expect them to do any better of a job the second time. Especially with a new motor with boost.

While they can't promise a stock motor wont blow when boosted, they can at least show you dyno graphs with Air / Fuel Ratios to show they tuned it properly. If not I would say they owe you a new motor + install.

I understand where your going and you are right that is stupid on my part.
The shop is JMS in Ms. I expect them to do the right thing.
I will get my old short block back from them and I will ask them for the info you spoke of thanks

RE: Help Please

well... every dyno i have been on I have to sign a waiver showing that they're not responsible. If you signed that waiver.. guess what....?

RE: Help Please

Most 2Vs can handle 9 psi. The 3V is a much stronger motor in boost applications. If properly tuned, there is no conceiveable way it should have thrown a rod as long as you kept it away from the rev limiter, especially after only 8 miles. What were you doing (exactly) when the bottom end let go?
