Default Cams

Hey everybody i got a 2000 Mustang GT with a built bottom end. runnin about 9:1 for compression with a stock intake manifold and a P1SC intercooled procharger. when i had the bottom end built i had the heads ported and kept the cams stock. on the dyno i make right at 400 at the wheels with a safe conservative tune for the break in period but once i put about 3000 miles on it id like to do a cam swap and i was lookin for a little help on cams. people have told me that id have to get a blower cam to allow for the intake and exhaust openings to be synchronous. which cams would be good and get a good mount of hp gain and still maintain good driveability? thanks for the help

Default RE: Cams

With your built shortblock and power potential I would definatly recommend a custom ground blower cam.

The custom cams are usually right around the same price as the generic ones, and you will make more power and better streetablity for your specific setup.

Visit www.modularpowerhouse.com and check out their cam prices. They have VT (I think) custom grind cams for them, and tim's cam grind (secret) is super sweet. Give em a call and I am sure he can get you setup with a great grind for your car.
