Default MGW 2nd gear problem... FIXED!!!!!!

As some of you know I installed my MGW about a week ago. I noticed that the shifts were a bit TOO notchy especially the 1-2, where I almost had to slam it into gear every time to shift. Well, I decided to take off the outer cover and move the handle more towards the middle at a lesser *. Before I had the swivel handle WAYY too much to the left side which I think made it difficult to get enough leverage for a positive shift. Now that I made that handle adjustment it shifts ALOT smoother and the 1-2 is more natural. I'm glad I figured this out sooner than later otherwise I could of possibly damaged my transmission.

I think I'll email George at MGW to include that in the instructions the shifter came with, so that people don't go too crazy w/ swiveling the handle to one side thus having less leverage and having too notchy of shifts.

Just thought I'd share to you all, and to future MGW owners.

How far to the left did you start with it the first time? Mine is at around 7 o clock I would guess.

Mine was at about 8:30 and now its at 7:00. But just to update I put the outer cover back on and it's doing it again. Starting to think the MGW inner dust boot is too crampted up with the outer OEM cover. This is really frustrating. I could either just put the stocker back on, or drive w/o the outer dust boot.

its not the position of the handle. its the synchros in the tranny man. just more noticable with a short shifter and when the engine is cooler. and its not mgw inner dust boot, because i used my stock boot. i just added the rubber gromlet. and mine has the exact symptoms. its the tr3650 tranny synchros. you can tell cause if you shift while the car is parked and off, it shifts through the gears like butter.

Does anyones MGW vibrate just a lil while in a certain gear? Mine does in 3rd gear only when I'm on the gas and it doesn't do it everytime either. It does it about half the time and its just a minor vibration... nothing big or anything.
