Default Newb Questions

got about 1400 to spend, maybe up to 1800 next month. what should my first mods be? what would make the best difference for the money? and what does the "modular" mean for our engines? im new to ford, used to be a GM guy but couldnt pass up this deal on my new stang. I was thinking x pipe, side exhaust, intake, pulleys, ignition and headers and a throttle body as my first necassary mods but what do u guys think i should do with my money and sorry for the question. probly heard this 90 million times. im new to this board too so u can show me a link to a similiar thread if its already been asked recently

in order of how i think you should mod ur car
1) gears (4.10)
2) throttle body and plenum
3) cat back system
4) upper and lower control arms, with an eibach kit
5) doesnt really matter, at this point forced induction

pulleys are kind of a waste if you plan to super/turbo charge in the future, headers dont do much but if you do get them, they are the hardest damn thing to install and make sure they are long tubes. intake? just take the silencer off the side of your air filter.

I would make the LT headers/x-pipe comboand gears first on your listed.I did all the mods and they made the biggest diff. of any of the mods on my car.

i doubt that, with the gears and throttle body his throttle response and acceleration will make the biggest difference in the seat of his pants... its not all about hp, no point in having 230hp if you cant accelerate fast. and for the throttle body 75mm

modular means it uses a bunch of parts that are interchangeable between several of ford's motors, which are all part of the "modular" family.

before the lts and x-pipe swap i raced my friends 99 cobra and he would rape me by 5 or 6 car lenths. Then i did the swap and i would be at his door the entire race.Later on i did the tb and the plenum and it wasnt much of a diff.
