i think that would look really good on a new-edge stang, especially with the lines on the doors.

and true enthusiasts would notice shaved handles

Shaved handles look awesome, but I do not think I would do it just for the simple reason of the "hidden" emergency popper button on your car. If you car was targeted by a theft ring or whatnot, they will have little to no problem finding that button, no matter where it is. (Of course, they will get your car even if the handles were not shaved)

Well THATS a mature and informative post! Are you being sarcastic cause you have a Targa top? I ask because that is considered a body mod. which goes in the same catagory as shaving!

NO... shaving door handles is not by ANY means ricer... shaving the drivers side and leaving the passenger side unshaved... that is ricer... not using solenoids and using a remote that opens your window... that is ghetto... shaving BOTH door handles and using a solenoid and popper spring to pop the door open... that is old school Hot Rod/Show car stuff! I had ALOT of things shaved on my truck... doors and gas tank doorincluded! I also had alot of people comment on where were my door handles, and how I got in! You would be surprised how many people notice!

BEWARE! Since we are Mustang owners... generally we like to go fast, and make our cars fast, we also like to take it out tothe the track from time to time! MOST tracks will not allow shaved door handles! It is a safety issue! The LVMS does not allow them last I checked! They would not let me run my truck!

A few tips....
[ul][*]Make sure it is a EXPERIENCED body guy doing the job who has done body mods before! Ask for references if you don't know him! I have seen many, many rides with shrunk or wavy body mods due to a poor or rushed job! Including all out show cars! Even from such places as West Coast Customs! Yes... even the most experienced person can make a mistake! Bondo is sometimes a tricky thing! Ask if they will fix it if the bondo shrinks a week or so after it is painted! [/ul]
[ul][*]Hide the emergency popper buttonlike stated! GREAT idea... you have 2 doors... it is EXTREMELY unlikely both solenoids will go out at the same time, the biggest problem with shaved doors is batterys going dead! (besides locking keys in the car)Intall a Cigarette lighter adapter on your car somewhere that will charge the battery via a jump... this device is out there somewhere... but I forget where.. the grill area is a good spot to install this!.... or what I would do since you have a trunk on a stang... dont shave the rear keyhole! If the alarm is like my truck... the door will not pop with the remoteif the keys are in the ignition and the igniton is on... since you have a trunk all you need is a key or spare key if the keys are locked in the car to climb in the trunk and retrieve the keys or open the door! [/ul]
[ul][*]I don't know what these cars use for door lock solenoids... but since you will not need door locks anymore, you will not need door lock solenoids! switch them around and install them and use them as your popper solenoids! Whethet this will work with these cars or not I don't know! But that is how we did my truck! Here is the only thing about the job I see being unclean... since you no longer have door locks.. and you definatley want to get rid of them.. what are you going to do about the holes in the door pannel where the lock studs used to be?? Mabey make them buttons that will pop the door from the inside? [/ul]

I miss my Truck!

I like the idea of shaved handles just because I HATE those big floppy elephant-ear handles Ford stuck on my car [:@]

SmallFeesh, that is one badass truck man. Shaving everything is one thing that I never got around to on my truck before I got rid of it. I had the kit to relocate the tailgate handle to the inside, and I was going to get my doorhandles and gas door shaved as well.

Now that I think about it....I miss my truck too
