I have a 99 GT that runs great and has 80k on it, i was thinking about putting a supercharger on it and run low boost maybe get 325-350hp outta it. Would i be safe or is that just asking to blow my engine? what kinda miles do you guys have with superchargers? is a centri, or twin screw supercharger easier on a engine?

I installed mine and on the first test drive it passed over 62,000. I don't imagine that 80k would be a ton different especially with those moderate numbers you are looking for. But be careful BOOST IS ADDICTIVE!

 

Go for it as long as your car has been well maintained should be no problem

well i have just turned 17k in my cobra lol,

but i have a buddy with a 01KB GT that he has over 13k on the blower and the car has around 45-50k now and he is making 388 rwhp 401 rwtq @ 9psi

 

i just hit 8k miles, i talked to a guy at a carshow before that started boostin 8 lbs on a procharger at around 75k and was still going at around 100

 

22k miles on mine. You'll be fine. Have a compression check done to be sure, and change all fluids when you do it (for the hell of it).

 

As long as the motor is in good shape now you should be fine. Just get a good tune and a new shortblock shortly after so you can up the boost.

 

i put about 10000 miles on my procharger and now have over 77000 miles and the engine is fine.....haha but the blower is seized.
