How long is safe??
I am in the process of changing my antifreeze and I just put the super flush stuff in and ran it for a loooong time. I was wondering how long do I have to wait until it cools down andI can take the cap off and drain that??.. I don't want to burn the sheit out of my arm. On another note my fan never even turned on, it seemed very odd to me. the radiator hose definately opened up cause it was dayumhot. I turned my car off as soon as it was a hair from theM in the NORMAL range. That was getting too hot for me to run my car. I let the thing just idle there for 25 minutes.

Just wait until it's cooled down again. Use your gauge to tell you. Then even when you think it is cool, do as 96GT said and wrap a rag around the cap and take it off slowly just in case there is still any pressure. I wouldn't just do it hot though because even though you could take the cap off while it's hot, you'd be stupid to try to drain it hot. It doesn't take much to spill on you to burn you. I'd probably just let it sit for an hour or so to be safe, just go do something else.

It's probably been about 25 minutes now. I would never open it when it was just on, I have heard a lot of people getting severe burns from that but I guess they opened it fast. Think I am safe leaving it for a half hour?
